About Eric Gilliom

Eric is an award winning musician and entertainer whose multi-faceted talents have taken him from his roots in Hawaii to performing live on the stages of Broadway, the Grammy awards, and the mainstream entertainment through his various concerts and appearances in films and television.

In recent years audiences have enjoyed his hysterical broadway-level performance in White Hawaiian, an auto-biographical one-man musical that celebrates the Gilliom family’s Hawaiian entertainment legacy, or as the frontman in Mick Fleetwood’s House Of Rumours band where he shares the spotlight with some of the biggest names in the music industry.

His versatility allows him to sing everything from Rock, Soul, R&B to Hawaiian and Broadway show tunes. He has played with and or opened for the “Who’s Who” of musical legends. Legends that include Earth Wind and Fire, Steven Tyler, John Legend, Willie Nelson, Jamie Foxx, Brian Johnson (AC/DC) and Michael McDonald just to name a few.

Eric paired with the late Willie K to form the Barefoot Natives. This Na Hoku Hanohano award-winning music and comedy act toured the world. Together they starred in the irreverent island-based motion picture, GET A JOB, from writer/director Brian Kohne, one of Gilliom’s longtime creative partners and co-writer of White Hawaiian.

A graduate of the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago, as an actor, singer and performer, Eric has worked with Debbie Allen on Broadway (Carrie & TV’s Fame), in television on the Jamie Foxx show, and on the big screen with Gene Hackman in Hoosiers.

In October 2022 Eric reprised his role as Dr. Franken-Furter in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW Book, Music and Lyrics by Richard O’Brien with Maui OnStage at the Historic Iao Theater. Audiences loved him in the storied fishnets and bustier and his flamboyant take on the character summons fond memories of Tim Curry, the role’s originator.

The Dynamic Duo

Gilliom & Esquire

Gilliam & Esquire

Maui’s Guitar & Ukulele Duo

Vince Esquire is an ukulele master who happens to be an accomplished blues guitarist as well. He is lead ukulele player for Kanekoa and has played with the Allman Brothers Band, toured with Dereck Trucks Band, Little Feat, and a few more legends.

Playing together is nothing new for Eric and Vince. These two are musicians who love jamming and having fun while doing it.

There is nothing these two can’t play and you can expect a show full of classic Hawaiian tunes twisted up with the blues and a little funk along with some of Eric’s great stories.

A One Man Show

White Hawaiian

An original one-man musical written and produced by Eric Gilliom and Brian Kohne. Performed by Eric Gilliom, WHITE HAWAIIAN celebrates a century of exotic family show business history in parallel with Hawaii’s.

Starting with Gilliom’s great grandfather, Louis Buckleman Wood, washing ashore on Maui in 1902, to the success of his recording star sister Amy Hanaialii, WHITE HAWAIIAN weaves love, war, and dreams of Broadway stardom into explosive music, comedy, and dance. The show enjoyed five sold-out nights at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center prior to the lock down in 2020.

WHITE HAWAIIAN hurtles audiences back in time on an unforgettable journey. Eric Gilliom grew up on Maui, graduated from Baldwin High School, and was the first of Hawaiian descent accepted into the prestigious Goodman School of Drama in Chicago.

“My grandmother and my father are by far the two most entertaining influences in the beginning of my life.”

“My grandmother was the first entertainer I ever saw. I was 3 years old and I’d go to rehearsals for her shows. She was such a colorful Hawaiian and such an iconic part of Hawaii’s history in entertainment.”

“With my dad, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. He was a great, funny guy, everything he did was entertaining.”
